Charge for the journey

Create the delivery method, and bill it

Why this step

Craning units to a fourth floor is not free, and absorbing it silently is a margin leak nobody ever finds. Set the delivery methods and let the charge reach the invoice the same way the windows do.

What this does

Delivery methods (shipping methods) put transport on the order as a priced service: a "Doha metro area — flat 150 QR" method, a rules-based tariff by weight or order total, and the delivery charge added to the quotation as its own line. That machinery — carriers, their pricing rules, and their link to transfers — is not enabled on this system: the Delivery Costs modules are not installed, so there is no Delivery Methods configuration menu and no "Add shipping" button on quotations. This page tells you what the capability is and how to ask for it, without pretending the screens exist.

What enabling it would add

  • A Delivery Methods configuration menu: each method with a name, a Fixed Price or Based on Rules price engine (rules on weight, volume, quantity or price), an optional free-over threshold, and margins.
  • An Add shipping button on quotations that computes the charge and adds it as an order line, plus the chosen method carried onto the delivery transfer.
  • Carrier tracking fields on transfers, and the operation type's carrier-label printing hooks.

In the meantime

Transport is charged here the plain way: add a service product ("Delivery & installation transport", priced by hand or by your price list) as a normal order line. The WinDoor Delivery Note's Vehicle and Route fields carry the logistics facts on the paperwork; what is missing without the module is only the automatic pricing and the carrier link, not the ability to bill transport.

Asking for it

If quoted delivery pricing by rules matters to your sales flow, ask your WindoorERP administrator to install the delivery-costs capability. Mention whether you need it only for pricing on quotes or also on transfers, since those are two module layers switched on together.

Checkpoint

A delivery charge appears on the order by rule, and is invoiced without a manual line.
